The # 8 pick in 2018 and a mid teen pick in 2019 is a reduction?

This is so dumb, no you are not getting 2 first round picks back for Pacioretty.

Ok let's wait to trade deadline... or Mtl signs a long term contract with Patches.

You're right if making that comparison. 95% of those Patches trades are proposed by Habs fans are so slanted for the Habs it's laughable. You've just added to the same nonsense. No that is not the value.

This is the point. Habs has to resign Patches. Maybe remove is captain sign and give it to Weber. But at trade deadline we never krow...

This does not solve all of the Hawks' problems, but if I could sign Patches longer-term (5 years), I would pull the trigger on this one. With a proper center, he would find his 35 goals ways.

BTW Beaudin was a second draft choice.

He was the Blackhawks second draft choice yes, but he was also picked number 27 overall in the first round.
ChicoMaki liked this.

That's the problem so many Armchair GMs. They think like GMs with little consideration for the player. Patches doesn't have to resign. He will quite happy to be UFA in July. Same with the Ottawa three UFAs, just so unlikely there are signed extensions and even less likely sign extensions with a trade.

Losing Patches for nothing would be terrible for Mtl.

True, but to think the Habs are going to get full trade for him as signed player is 95% not happening.
