3-Way Blockbuster

Created by: Acegamer
Team: 2018-19 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 8, 2018
Published: Aug. 8, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Too big to actually happen, but what do you think? Is it fair for all 3 teams? Would you add or take away? Maybe a 1st from Boston to Ottawa rather than a 2nd to sweeten the pot? A lot of Ryan doubters out there but on a line with Marchand and Bergeron I'm thinking at least 30 goals. And Bergeron would be a great leader and influence for him. And I love the idea of Spezza centering 2 skilled rookies.

Boston:
Spezza, Ryan, Heiskanaen

Dallas:
Karlsson, Backes, Heinen

Ottawa:
1st Dallas, 2nd Boston, Krug, MacQuaid
Trades
1.
BOS
  1. Heiskanen, Miro
  2. Spezza, Jason
Additional Details:
Dallas gets Karlsson from Ottawa.
DAL
  1. Backes, David
  2. Heinen, Danton
Additional Details:
Boston dumps a salary and gets a top 2 defensive prospect. Unproven by highly touted.
2.
BOS
  1. Ryan, Bobby ($2,000,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Ottawa gets a 1st from Dallas as well. Ottawa dumps a major salary and gets some good picks for a rebuild and a solid offensive defenseman. And some stability and leadership with McQuaid.
OTT
  1. Krug, Torey
  2. McQuaid, Adam
  3. 2019 2nd round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
Boston fills the 3rd center gap with a great option and gets a solid winger to play on the 1st line in order to move Pastarnak on the 2nd. Spezza's salary is high but he is in his last year, could let him go or sign him cheaper next year.

As a Dallas fan, it's tough losing Heiskanen. But it's very hard to say no to Karlsson and Heinen.

I'd still say no. Backes's contract with resigning Karlsson would shoot our team on the foot. Harshly. Also this makes it tough to resign Seguin...

Maybe make Boston's pick to Ottawa a 1st round , give them Backes (they are losing Ryan and Karlsson's salary) and send McQuaid to Dallas instead, or Boston could keep McQuaid and trade him elsewhere from a 5 or 6th rounder.

Doubt OTT would take it then. They are not going to swap Ryan to another big contract that is extremely hard to get rid of, I think.

Creative, but I like it. It cuts the backes contract shorter, and essentially turns into Krug, heinen, And a 2nd for a very good young d man. Really hurts losing heinen, but oh well

Do you know how pissed off Sens fans would be if there was a Karlson trade that sent every good player in the deal to either Dallas or Boston lol

I know Krug is good and Ottawa is getting rid of salary but still, Heiskanen and Heinen in the deal, Ottawa is giving up the best player, Karlson, in the deal and not getting either of them. I love it.

boston is kinda giving a lot just to get one prospect. ryan is basically backes so that cancels and spezza is a cap dump of zero value so its Heinen krug McQuaid and a 2nd for Heiskanaen. no ill pass

So Pasta-Marchie-Bergy has a huge year last year so why break that up for BOBBY RYAN??? I like the Soezza and Heisk add, don’t like losing Heinen. Good base of the trade just poor execution so probably 3 Stars ✨

if Heiskanen is on the table, the sens would be stupid to take that return from Boston.

Seems like a lot for Boston to give up considering the best piece coming back is a prospect.
