Nope. Jost isnt going anywhere. Avs are not moving youth as he is a big part of the teams core building blocks

for Stone they would move Jost, Jost is good for sure but stone is better is only 26, and has the size a ability to play the game a long time. Jost is only 5.11. Stone would be a core building block in his replacement.

If that's all they get for EK that franchise and fan base will implode.

They wont move Jost. Sakic has said in the past that Mack, Jost, and Rantanen are building blocks of the teams forward group.
Sorry youre wrong on that one

It's rare Coga and I disagree on all things Avs, but the terms 'core' and 'untouchable' should always be taken with a pinch of salt. If the 'Great One' could be traded then as far as I'm concerned anybody can be. I think if the price is right then anybody can be moved and I'd have to consider this one if I were Sakic. I repeat though, only consider, but I'd have to give it a lot of thought. Jost has a LOT of potential.

A lot of potential. Thats what it is and i think he will be good. Stone is proven and might put them over the top.

and what he says is gospel and will be 100% the truth because executives don't stretch the truth ever to inflate value. Stone is better and is in his prime so if they want to win now Stone would be a better asset and the avs would still not be selling the future with trading for him.

bc of the teams commitment to youth. Adding stone is an upgrade today, but the team has issues with who will be the 2C long term. And you dont move a promising 20 year old Jost thats why.
Sakic has shown his commitment to the youth movement and nothing today has shown he has moved away from what he has said,

avs dont need to win now, they are still a year or 2 away. Moving Jost would be a mistake as it solves one issue on teh wine and opens up a big hole long term.
SO its bad asset management thast why

If I were Sakic I'd be more likely to offer maybe Kerfoot plus COL 1st (Maybe even Kaut plus COL 1st if the Sens are looking for potential for the future) for Stone. Kerfoot is a little more proven points-wise, had good chemistry with Duchene before Duchene got traded to OTT, and even though he maybe doesn't have the potential ceiling that Jost has would be a more sensible offer for a pending UFA. Ottawa gets a first round pick back, and a guy who can put up points with chemistry with their top centre, and removes a potential headache. The first is an improvement on the second whilst Kerfoot's potential ceiling is lower than Jost's but production so far is higher. It would also help Colorado in that it means they still keep a first round pick and it's Ottawa's pick which is probably going to be higher than Colorado's own, and clears a spot for the likes of Kaut, Kamenev or Shvyryov.

Moving Jost in a Karlsson trade would only make sense if they moved Barrie somewhere for another decent young centre who is closer to proven. I'd love to see Horvat as a number 2 behind MacKinnon (1A/B if you like). Horvat wins face-offs as a just for starters, something the Avs were woeful at after Duchene went. Maybe a trade sending Barrie home to BC could work, I'm guessing the Avs would need to add though.

with how bad the sens are going to be there is no way they get that pick back. Hughes will be better than Jost if they manage to win the lottery and him.

by Coga's argument that Jost will not be moved as Sakic said so and he is embracing the Youth movement and has said Jost is part of the future core, Jost wont be moved for Karlsson either.
It would also take Jost and a lot more to land Karlsson and even that i would not give them back their 1st round pick LOL. I am not a fan of either team and I am looking at it impartially. Fans tend to over value everything they have and under value other teams assets. I dont see theses teams hooking up again for a trade for a while as most people think Sakic fleeced the sens (he sure did and good on him).

Yep I would only move the Avs first pick not the Sens own pick back to them. Sorry if I didn't make that clear enough.
