Spezza only has 1 year left. Doesn't make sense for Dallas to take 2 extra years of Backes when they need to resign Seguin

I think he just isn't the right player to target. They should go after Duchene. They have many trade assets Remie/Robertson/Honka/Ritchie/Pitlick/Janmark/Shore/Faksa. They can use any 2 of those to get him and theyd have money to resign both Duchene and Seguin

If they used prospects to trade for him that would b fine because they have a huge logjam up front

I think in principle, the Bruins could get behind this, but you just need to downgrade the prospect. The bruins need young centers. Senyshyn? maybe. Lauzon? maybe. Ryan Lindgren? **** the bruins traded him for that pile of dog crap rick nash.

Yeah but I mean Dallas has a lot of prospects and forwards. Theyd be better trying to get their 2C right now

Only combination of players that get you Duchene out of that would be Honka and Faksa. Even then, you're throwing in at least a 2nd round pick. OTT just gave up a first, serviceable backup, the previous year's first rounder and a 2C for him. They're not downgrading with a better chance of giving up a really high pick this year unless enough value is coming back.

dude....they're both centers. Studnicka is the one guy they'll never trade, the point is, the bruins might be willing to tango if the cost is wingers, or d men, not centers.

truthfully i like nash too, but that trade was so so so bad from the second the trade call was made.

Dallas keeps Spezza until January/February to see where they are in the standings. Keep him for depth if they're in a wildcard spot, move him if they aren't. He is worth a B level prospect + pick as a TDL pick up.

agreed, but you made it sound like the value was junk. I think it's decently fair.

No its good but I just don't think its a smart strategy for Dallas to go that way
