For someone who hAs played 1 NHL game, to earn a full season on a 1 way contract in 2019/20 is a total coup for him. It will make it harder for him to sign after this next contract (as his QO will have to be greater than the final year) tho if he isn’t producing enough to make League minimum plus 5% by that point then he will likely walk as a non-tendered UFA at that point anyways.

You're right! Why the extra year? No chance he cracks the Devils lineup in 2018-19 w/o the team contracting some sort of virus-he must be the 7th or 8th Center on the depth chart, at least. They'll probably end up placing him on waivers in 2019-20-i can't imagine why a 25 year old that far down the depth chart would make anything above the pro forma minors salary. By comparison, Nick Lappin, who's much closer to cracking the lineup on a regular basis, only got a 1 year deal w/ only $225k guaranteed. Something's amiss here.

Also as a note - the poll is broken. It never provided me an option to vote and, judging by the few that voted, I am likely not the only one encountering this issue.
