Great value for a player who was quietly one of the top primary point producers /60 at 5-on-5 in the league this past season (9th out of 299 forwards with at least 700 minutes).

Kase is really underrated so if he's 40 points this is a steal and he's only 22.

It's a steal regardless. He's getting paid half as much as Wilson for twice the value

"But what about the intangibles?" "What about the 'chemistry' and 'fit' of the Tom Wilson line?" "Ondrej Kase doesn't bring grit or energy."

Kane brings speed, speed, and more speed to the lineup. That's the direction of the league right now, and it's only gonna get faster w/ more skill. Wilson was overpaid b/c the Capos won the Cup. Crazy how the 2 best value contracts were signed in the last 2 days: Kase and Ellis. A+ for ANA.

So the kid has 5 goals and 15 points in his first season, and then 20 goals and 38 points in his second. He's 22. I think this is a great deal for the guy because he hasn't really proven he's a top six player (offensive stat wise), but will be, and could creep into the 25 goals, 50 point range for the next several years. You can argue this is overpaying because of his limited production, but it's really underpaying him because of what he should achieve the next two seasons.

Watch out, cause he could be in the Evander Kane money range next contract.

Dropped this guy in my keeper pool after his slow start last season. I am still upset at myself for being impatient with him, he's a stud.

Great cap hit. Current cap means that the average cap hit can be $3.45M, so anyone you get under that mark who is a far better than average player is a great value. Also, a 3 year bridge at this rate is pretty good, as bridge deals were starting to creep up to a point where they weren't usually making sense. This one does, as it would have been hard to get this type of value on a long term deal. If he is a 25 goal 50 point guy by the end, the price won't be terrible, and Perry's contract will be gone. If he is more than that, better to fit it in when those bigger contracts come off.

Really? HAHAHA! A+ for ANA for signing Kase at such a reasonable rate. AND an A+ for NSH for Ellis's deal. Sorry for my confusing grammar.

Good bridge deal. He’s going to get much more on his next contract.

I guess the Ducks are hoping he becomes a 7m player at the end of his contract. If I'm the Sharks and Kane is on his 7m X 7 contract, I'm more concerned that Kane becomes a 2.6m player.

How much less would Kane have been offered if he hadn't been traded at the deadline to a contender? Remember, he didn't even bring a 1st round pick in return. I'm thinking Kane was worth no more than $5M AAV before he became a Shark. Kane, for the first time in a long time, is playing w/ good offensive talent. He should be a 65-70 point player at $7M.
