Habs finished fourth last overall last season. How much additional tanking can they do especially with Weber out, no meaningful additions and Patches to be traded?

I think the Habs will want a better prospect than Samorukov in exchange for 3 years of Gallagher at a bargain salary. The 1st rounder is a good start though. And we should not touch that Lucic contract, that's 5 more years of endless pain. Too long.

Pacioretty trade looks reasonable to me, but assuming he signs an extension with Dallas.

And unfortunately Florida won't consider moving Heponeimi.

I don't know in what world do you think this trade is not fair for the habs. There's no way this trade happen. EDM did not make the playoff last year and they are probably not this year either so this 1st round pick should be top 10. People are saying that no one wants to trade their 2019 1st round cause there's alot of good prospect.

If you tank you get as many assets as possible. Montreal as way too many wingers and they need to move at least 2 of them and play McCarron and DLR as much as possible.

The Habs need at least another 3 years of drafting in the top 5, at least top 10. They need high end talent, not depth.

I do agree that should go "all in" in trades their UFAs this year. Time load up on draft picks and good prospects and then cross your fingers.
