Seems contradictory given that a handful of guys on this list a) were considered stretches for the 1st round, or b) weren't 1st rounders at all

Yeah, but most of those guys are better than Sprong, Hallander, and Addison

Whether or not someone is a first-round pick doesn't determine how good they are. For Example, Carter Hart wasn't a 1st round pick, Addison wasn't a 1st round pick, and they have the potential to become elite in their respective positions

Yeah, but none of the Pens guys have any accolades. Sprong put up great numbers, but there is just nothing really behind that.

Accolades /= the skill of a certain player.

You seem to grossly underrate the Pens prospects. Sprong/Hallander can be 2nd line guys if you give them 3 years and the proper development. Calen Addison is projecting to be a top 4 OFD, similar to Justin Schultz, so no, not most of the prospects, some of them

Philly has crazy depth, but I'm not sure if they have a prospect in the top 30

Morgan Frost, Carter Hart, and Philippe Myers are all close to that gap. Other guys like Joel Farabee, Oskar Lindblom, Wade Allison, Jay O'Brien, etc. are also players that have high upside.

Accolades are like achievements and Sprong is the only one with any of them. And honestly who cares if you have good prospects when you have 3 cups

I still put them 4th, but they don't have the elite upside as the 3 above them

I know what accolades are, you don't have to explain them to me.

Regardless, of how many cups we've won, we only have 2-3 years tops of cup contention left, we are on a downturn with most of our elite core moving into the early 30's so we need to think about the future now

islanders and ottawa dont have good pools at all currently. 100% shouldn't be in the top 10, Also Pittsburgh has possibly the worst if not bottem 2 of prospect pools in the league and that is obvious after constantly giving up their 1sts.

It’s based on top 2 only. Also, ever heard of Tkachuk, Chabot, White, Brown, Wahlstrom, Dobson, Bellows. Those are decent prospects

It's not based on top 2, but I love the Sens group.

actually some "expert" ranking recently put the penguins in the low 20s in terms of ranking, personally I expected them to be like 4th or 5th worst. Still definitely ahead of a few other teams(Washington and tampa)
