Description
If Pettersson is as advertised this team isn’t far off from contending with a solid prospect pool to boot!

If I was Dorion I wouldn’t make this trade for Karlsson. However, it all depends with how he views the pieces of the deal.
Lori Eriksson=a cheaper Bobby Ryan
Erik Gudbranson=6 foot 5 inch 220 pound former 3rd overall pick only 26 years old signed for 3 more years with captainacy potential.
Petrus Palmu=solid prospect
1st round pick=potential lottery pick however probably not after two years of development for VAN young prospects.
2nd round pick=most likely lower than OTT will suspect, VAN roster is very underrated with the addition of Karlsson.

Why would Vancouver be in on him? They're not close to being a contender even if they get him. Better off keeping the required assets and letting them grow.

Mmmmk, so you are not giving Ottawa a big salary back. That is why they don't want Bobby Ryan.

And if you do trade Eriksson over there, you are adding a bunch more in terms of futures. You will need to start the trade with a top, young defense prospect. Then add a roster player worth hanging on to. Gubranson is not that player. He a physical defender, who provides little offense, and doesn't skate well. No go there.

Let's take Hughes and Stetcher to start. Then add a 1st. Then add a middle level prospect, so let's say the Palmu kid. You will probably need to add a lesser prospect or a mid round pick. Then you're done.

You are close but Hughes is NOT available .... Juolevi could be had but if you're dumping Ryan and Karlsson doesn't have a new contract in place you are asking too much. The first would be top 5 protected and not in 2019 as VAN is hosting the draft. so could look more like this.

I don't disagree, but would you not concede that Hughes has higher value right now, so it would make sense that the Sens would ask for him first?

Also, it's easier to type Hughes than Juolevi, so I just got lazy. Sticking Out Tongue
