Nyquist trade is spot on. I think Vanek stays a Wing and Jensen gets traded for a 3rd (my guess is Nashville).

I can see a team giving up a late 1st for him at the deadline.

If Holland retains half of Nyquist, I think we can get a late 2019 1st round pick for him. Vanek is already on record stating that he wont waive his NTC next year. He will remain with Detroit for the duration of his contract.

Wondering where was vanek on record saying that, it makes sense, just curious. Could you send the article or wherever you heard that?

It was an actual quote from Khan, Saying that Vanek is getting sick and tired of uprooting his family. He wants to stay in one place. It was in one of his articles after Detroit had signed him. I didn't mean to say Vanek but Khan was quoted from the organization. I will see if i can find the article and post it.

With Z most likely gone this year it was worth signing vanek even if we had to give the no trade clause, he can bring some veteran presence and he's fun to watch. I think there is still slight potential he would waive if a team really wanted to pick him up. Considering we could only get like a third rounder for him at the deadline , i don't think its a big loss either way. A third rounder is still a third rounder though so it would be nice if we could get that or maybe more who knows but probably not.

All this depends on how Nyquist performs this season. If he's given top 6 minutes and is more productive, I can see us getting two 2nd rounders, maybe a 1st for him. Also keep in mind he will have much control where he ends up thanks to that full NTC. But who knows, maybe he waives it for whoever. As for Vanek, he also has a full NTC and I don't think the plan is for him be traded. As for him going on record saying he wont waive, I don't recall that either. BUT if he does get moved, a 3rd from a contender makes sense.
