Not trying to be rude or anything, but it would take a lot more to acquire these guys. Rakell put up 69 points and 34 goals last season, is only improving, and is getting paid 3.79 million for the next 4 years. That's absolutely one of the best contracts in the league. That contract makes him extremely valuable. It would take the world for Anaheim to give him up on that contract... In terms of players on Vancouver, it would take a Bo Horvat to get a deal done. And I don't see why Vancouver would want to do that. Same story with Trochek. He put up 75 points and 31 goals last year, and he's only getting paid 4.75 for the next 4 years. Again, one of the best contracts in the NHL. He can play both wing and center positions well and he's still young. I don't even think Florida would do 1 for 1 with horvat. Just my opinion!

Horvat is younger than both rakell and trochek and has a high celilong and potential he hasn’t even came close to yet. He’s only 23 so there’s plebty of room to grow. There is no way they would trade horvat for trochek. I think your comparaskn of horvat to rakell is good, they are both great players but i don’t see them trying to get any of these players because of their currwnt spot as a rebuilder.

Exactly. Why would Vancouver be trying to add these guys when rebuilding. And I suppose Horvat is 2 years younger than both those guys. But is his ceiling really that high? I've always viewed him as a really good 2C, but not a true number 1 center. Maybe I'm underestimating him though

yeah i think this next year we will tell, becaus emost of last year he was injured so not really sure yet. I think he will be similar to a ROR which will probably be a 2C only because of Pettersson though cause i’d think most people will think that pettersson will surpas?

I’m with MK458 on this one dude. I’m mostly just confused what the purpose of these trades are. You’re trading young assets for older players when the title of this armchair suggests it’s a rebuild.

Then on top of that the trades have 2 problems:
1. They provide nowhere near enough value for what you’re getting in return. I don’t think I need to elaborate, MK probably did a sufficient job.
2. They take no consideration for what the other teams needs would be. For example, the Ducks have 1 LW who can play in the top 6, and arguably 4 RWs (Perry, Silfverberg, Kase, Eaves). Yet your trade takes the 1 LW away in exchange for a RW? Not to mention they are in their window to try to win a cup right now, and your trades are giving them young prospects and taking away NHL ready talent instead of the other way around.
