Bennett hasn't even proven he's a C, much less a 1C so I doubt Montreal would be interested in this unless you also include a decent prospect.

Bennett is struggling in CGY, and he need that change of scenery.. he is still capable of being decent NHLer. Maybe change 2nd to 1st rounder but that might be enough. He would get 1C opportunity with MTL since they have their best C in Danault (which SUCKS) and with Drouin and Gallagher on his wing he might succeed, just saying..

Bennet is worth at most a 2nd round pick, he is barely a 3c

On normal team yes, in Montreal he would get opportunity (Im not saying he is 1C, he is not, ever..), but he would get opportunity in MTL, thats what Im saying.

If the second would be a conditional first if patches signs back then maybe mtl would consider it but i just don't see Patches signing longterm in Calgary

Thats a good point. IT would be conditional, but he doesnt re-sign in Calgary. In my scenario they would have less than 4mil left
