I think that you can ice 2 AHL teams with how your NHL roster looks like..

Agreed, this is a Calder Cup playoff team, the thing that has to be so depressing to Habs fans, and if the reason why Marc Bergevin should have been fired 2 years ago, is this team loses to the Marlies, and I am a Leaf fan, but I feel for you Montreal, you are in the same place the Leafs were from 06-12, meaningless with very few prospects. Kotkaniemi should be a good player but you need guys in the 3rd 4th 5th rounds as well, which is why the Leafs having Matthews Marner Nylander is amazing, but 7th round pick Andreas Johnsson was the Calder Cup MVP.

I hope Montreal commits to losing and sucking in as many assets as they can because that is how you build a good team. I am hoping for you guys, as a Leafs fan it sounds like sarcasm, but it isn't I was there watching Bryan Burke gut and kill my team, and it sucked be 18 and looking at the Teams GM knowing I have a better 21st Century Hockey mind than the guy in control.

I hope it turns around, and I hope in 2021-2022 the Habs can sneak in the playoffs and we finally get that Toronto Montreal series.

Good post.

Kotkaniemi will be back in Finland playing with Assat if he isnt playing for the NHL club. Poehling will also go directly to the NHL club after the NCAA season, most likely he finishes his school year then signs with MTL in March, playing the last two months so they can see what they have.

It is funny seeing Leaf fans comment on here, I understand their meaning but what fans outside MTL dont realize is that our best prospects arent in North America. Ylonen, Ikonen and Romanov will all be in Europe/Russia this year. Not saying their huge difference makers but I think Ylonen will be someone who flys up prospect charts this year and turns some heads.

But I am looking forward to 3 years from now when Montreal might actually see a young skilled team playing.

The reason I had Kotkaniemi and Poehling on the team was because, as the title suggests, this is what I think Laval's lineup could look like come playoff time, when Kotkaniemi has finished his season with Assat and Poehling has finished his with Montreal/St. Cloud State.

I disagree. But even still, is any defenseman on this team currently better than them?
