Marc Bergevin apparently refused an offer from St. Louis : Robert Thomas, Jake Allen and a 1st round pick. MB pushed for two 1st round picks, and Carter Hutton instead of Allen, and with Robert Thomas as well. St. Louis refused.
I see you even gave Lehkonen and Bitten, but I would also add a young left winger, maybe an other prospect just to make sure it goes through and get rid of Price and his insane cap hit.
given only a dozen people a privy to exact details on trades like this i highly doubt this is true in any sense.
i heard proabably a half dozen versions of that trade and zero had a source that was credible with even TSN analyst's disagreeing about which version they heard.
the truth is MB cant trade Price after signing him to that bad of a contract with 80%+ in guaranteed cash each year play , lockout or retire .
even if he did finding another Subban type 1 for 1 deal the President ,CEO and Owner would fire him long before taking the heat for allowing MB to piss away both diamonds from the Gainey years while getting absolutely nothing in return .(as with contracts this extreme like Prices and Subbans you dont get top picks or prospects in return)
in all honesty Price for Allen straight up would be the only deal i'd see STL making because Price could be injured his first season there but STL will have to foot the bill for Years and Years .
maybe you convince them to give up a conditional pick or a mid level prospect where Allens struggled since then with consistency but no way in hell you land all that given the history of top goalies being traded in the league never has going back to Hasek being moved to DET or Roy being moved to COL its just unreasonable to expect a goalie to land that
