Forget the fact that you think Seguin is coming back, what is that monstrosity of an Edmonton trade?

Even if Seguin is coming back you can only sign him for 7 years.

That Oilers trade is ridiculous

That Edmonton trade is horrendous. Seguin isn't coming back and McAvoy is going to cost minimum $8 million per year.

That might be a little on the high side. Guys like Trouba and Dumba came in around the $6 million range. At an $8 million cap hit, McAvoy would be tied for the 2nd highest paid d-man in the league.

By then Doughty and Karlsson will have their new contracts kick in. so he'll be tied for 4th. I don't think that's crazy. McAvoy is in a different class than Dumba and Trouba. I don't think he gets that much but if he says "bridge deal, or 8x8," I would give him the money and the term. He'll cost 12 in 4 years.

It's been official, for awhile, that your mock ACGMs aren't good at all.

Sorry. If McQuaid was only re-signed for one year, would that make any difference? LOL.

Subban, Burns, Carlsson, Doughty, Karlsson (By then), OEL.

He may not even be in the top 5 to 7 highest paid Dmen.

Looking at next year:

Doughty - $11 million
Subban - $9 million
OEL - $8.25 million

Lets throw in EK since he'll make over $8 million. These are the only guys that would be paid more than McAvoy at $8 million per season. Carlsson and Burns both make $8 million and would be tied with McAvoy. Again $8 million is on the very very high side.
