That CGY trade will never happen - we cannot afford to essentially swap salaries. If we move Stone it will be for a pick or prospect to clear some Cap for Tkachuk's new contract

The value is a smidge off. If Ottawa adds stone, and tkachuk, and chabot, and three first rounders....you see where I'm going with this

I really like the Dallas trade although I fear Dallas might not want that much salary back. Maybe we keep Pageau and offer them Colin White with Karlsson and Harpur then take back another prospect or their 1st instead of their 2nd. I know a lot of people freak out when I suggest moving White but I really don't feel he's going to develop into the top 6 everyone believes he will be. PLUS: Imagine Seguin, Duchene, Brown and Pageau as our 4 centres. I think that's just as dangerous as the Leafs 4 pivots! AS FOR CGY, I agree, a mid range prospect and mid range pick would be more than enough to get Michael Stone.

You really like that Dallas trade because you get an elite defenseman and an elite forward at the price of one elite defenseman. That is the worst trade I have ever seen on this site that I have seen in the three years I've been on here.

Hahaha. I see someone is wearing his hyperbolic grumpy pants. There are UNDENIABLY far worse trades posted on here every single day. You can say you think Dallas is giving up too much but to say it's the worst trade you've ever seen here takes away all your credibility.

I don't think I've seen something this bad in a long time. It's really, really bad.
