Any team that mortgages their future on a goaltender over 35 is insane.

Based on those players, they're not mortgaging their future at all.

Not really one though. We have a very deep prospect pool.

A 2019 1st is very valuable. Deep draft, nobody wants to trade those and that's probably part of the reason why Patches, Karlsson, Faulk haven't been traded yet.

A first round is valuable and it's not really needed here. However, to say they are "mortgaging their future" is a ridiculous statement in this case because they arent giving up any of their main young pieces/prospects. Still have Carter Hart, Morin, Myers, Frost, Patrick. Only name of note is Ratcliffe and he's in the bottom 10 of their prospects

The King isn’t leaving NYR.

Even if film legend Morgan Friedman is included in the trade.

Is Lundqvist even better than Elliott anymore? But we give up 2 picks, a top prospect and a high end goalie prospect for him...

Who is the top prospect given up here? No A prospects are being traded here. And Lundqvist did put up decent stats behind a bad team.

Ratcliffe...The organization is very high on him. There is no way I give up all that for an aging goalie that could be barely better than what we already have, not to mention one that would want to start over Carter Hart.

Ratcliffe isn't an A prospect. He's good, but not on that level. I also don't think it'd be a good idea to rush Hart.

If Hart is ready then he deserves to play no matter what. He is very mentally tough and those type of goalies can handle the NHL at an early age.

As for Ratcliffe, the front office really likes him and I bet they would consider him a top prospect.

What's so fun about giving up our 2nd best goalie prospect, a potential top 6 forward and a first round pick for an aging goalie?
