It's not a bad trade. Seeing as Minnesota wants to be a playoff team though they won't make the trade to a division rival

They wont be sellers. They have a playoff team. They're in the same position as the Blues. Not bad enough to get a high pick. Not good enough to be a serious contender

We're a far better team than the Wild at the moment... Also, in a way better position prospect wise. Wild have a bottom 10 or so farm. We have a top 5. Don't think we're in the same position even remotely.

We're better off in rhe future and slightly better now. I love the Blues, but there's no way we can beat Nashville, Winnipeg, or even San Jose in a 7 game series. Same as Minnesota. Not saying the Blues aren't the better team now or future, but in terms of where they rank, both are middle tier teams compared to competition.

I disagree pretty strongly. Yeah a lot of it falls on Allen's shoulders. But let's say he bounces back to a .915 SV%. Essentially Martin Jones last year.

First, we definitely beat San Jose in a 7 game series.

Secondly, I see the Blues as a top 7ish team in the NHL right now. A lot of analytics people see us as a top 10 sure thing, and some even higher.

I don't know if we beat San Jose in 7 games. I feel more comfortable this year than last year, but it's extremely close, probably by 1 goal either way or another.

In terms of top 7 in NHL, it's one of those I have to see it to believe it. Top 7 in regular season is a lot different than top 7 overall. I love the Blues, but I see 3 teams in Atlantic automatically better in Toronto, Tampa and Boston. 2 teams in the central in Winnipeg and Nashville. Put Washington and Pittsburgh above us. I would also consider putting Florida above us. So top 10 I would agree. I do think there is a possibility that Colorado is a lot better, possibility Philadelphia pushes us out. I would also consider San Jose on our level, Minnesota below us. I also expect Vegas to still be a solid team. So to say top 10 is a good possibility. Top 7 I would not say just yet

Florida? I'm not buying Florida. Colorado overperformed last year (and were secretly garbage at 5v5) and will regress. Philly is close, but still not there. Capitals won't be better than us. My guess is the top 7 would be:

BOS
TB
NSH
WPG
PIT
STL
TOR

If Blues were top 7 they'd be number 7 and not before Toronto. Colorado wasn't good at 5 on 5, but they were also missing their best defensive defenseman for much of the season. They probably overperformed, but they could also be getting better. I do buy Florida. They were the hottest team second half of last year and barely missed the playoffs. They have a top 5 to 10 center in the league in Barkov, tremendous speed and playmaking ability. Their question, much like the Blues, is goaltending. But I think they're legit. Philly I do put up there now. Theyre an offensive juggernaut whose defense is getting better. Again, it comes to goaltending.

I did the list and realized I like us at 6. They definitely overperformed (Colorado). Florida's defense is bottom 10 and their goaltending is good with a healthy luongo. That's big If I feel though.

I mean I'm pretty convinced we're top 6 or 7. You think they're top 10. That's fine lol. I don't really need to argue a 3 spot difference.
