I have to wonder if Columbus would be interested in Bailey after he just came off a 70 point season. Maybe Bailey + Bellows + 2nd does the job? We don’t really need Bellows if we get Panarin and keep Lee.

if, that's a big if, there were extensions going both ways I think this could happen.

For decades, it has been apparent that they just make stuff up to get cllicks.

That said, even a stopped clock is right twice a day, and there's always a chance that one team or another is actually contacting them to float an idea and get fan reactions without anyone taking it seriously.

I don't see Eberle's contract status as an obstacle because Eberle has not announced any plan to go play in a big city on the coast, like Panarin did. I don't think that there's enough value there to really make up for losing Panarin, but it definitely beats losing him for nothing next summer as a UFA. I mean, maybe they're thinking of the other Seb. Aho? Still need to add a 2nd or so.

Komarov is a lot better than Martin, BTW.

even with a contract extension we would be trading a contract for a contract except CBJ gets a guy 2 yrs older than Panarin which means islanders get the better deal. I do not see Jarmo wanting to keep him past or 35. yes he will produce but or how long? And do the Jackets want to take another Dubinsky/Hartnell risk taking a huge salary cap hit for a guys numbers that may dip. We do not know myabe eberle will be a 50pt guy till tat age but Jarmo likes to have a young team so asking him to trade an impact player for a maybe 50pt guy later on I doubt the trigger will be pulled. the other two are all relying on the eberle piece both are good prospects and can defintely provide depth and help improve a team in a year or so I would agree to those. However, a piece or two made need to be substituted in order for this to work do to aging players
