I do like the idea of this team adding another Russian speaking skater. I'm not sure if Galchenyuk speaks Russian? Zadorov would be a great fit, and Orlov could switch sides to play with him, and to play on a unit with Ovechkin, Kuznetsov, and Shumakov.

Wouldn't dream of giving up two years of Holtby for one year of Bob, let alone five years of Wilson for one year of Breadman.

If they did make any of those moves, it should be to foster better on-ice communication between linemates by putting people with similar language backgrounds together. What you've got here is a team that has a harder time communicating than last year, because most of its lines and defensive pairings have language differences. The Caps make the language barrier work on the top line because Wilson's role is simple: get the puck out of the corners, and go to the net. I'm hoping Shumakov gets a look on that top line, because when Ovechkin played with Fedorov and Semin, they did pretty well together. A lot of communication can help lines learn different types of plays and try different things out. WIlson is going to be productive on any line, and will still get most of this year on the top line, but I'm hoping Shumakov gets a look there.

Of course the Caps would happily trade Burakovsky for Galchenyuk. Maybe Phoenix considers it because they're getting a pending RFA with lower offensive totals to bargain from, but similar skills, while Washington goes for it because they're only adding 400k cap hit to get a more proven goal scorer.... but I don't think Gally gets a look on the top line. More likely on a fantastic third line with Eller and Connolly, which is incidentally where Burakovsky likely fits this year, given that Vrana finished the playoffs on the second line with Oshie and Backstrom.

Now, you could argue that Burakovsky's six points in the last six games of the playoffs say that he should move up, or you could just say that third line worked pretty well and so did the second, so why mess with them?

Not enough for Galchenyuk. Not enough for Panarin, though I can see CBJ doing that b/c Wison fits them perfect. Waaaaay too much for Zadorov.

but it's for fun so whatever.
