I think it would be pretty cool to see the Islanders go far into the playoffs like Vegas did ... that would be pretty fun to watch, not only because i'm an Islanders fan though. Yes, that's part of it for me but imagine after everyone acting like they can't win without Tavares, they go far into the playoffs. I'm not saying i think it'll happen, but anything can happen. The Golden Knights were expected to finish near the bottom of the league last year and they went to the final lol.

I'm just saying anything is possible ... if i was betting money i'd pick the Isles to miss the playoffs ... theGolden Knights went to the final last year, and the Avalanche made the playoffs.

Realistically it is unlikely that the Islanders make the playoffs, but i have to be confident that my teams can have good seasons.

It's always good that a team and their fans have hope. It would good to some of the projected "bottom feeders", remain in playoff contention.

Be interested how the Isles, Sens and Habs do after losing their best player from last year. Plus interesting to see how the Leafs...who are paying a lot for UFA Tavares, San Jose who gave up players and futures for a one year of rental of Karlsson, and Vegas trading Tatar and futures for an extended Pacioritty do. If those three "buying" teams don't progress from last year, will some teams question the value of going all in on expensive acquisitions.
