Vegas isn’t doing wpg any favours so add that cap hit in making it look like they got the upper hand and wpg has to move the cap hit soft landing in either Ottawa or mtl was thinking possibly Trouba for Mcnabb and glass straight up settled on tuch and Tatar was added to ditch cap hit and save face from that atrocious trade deadline deal. Tatar paid double what he’s worth and at least a year too long

he pulled a Plekanec and his offense started declining after signing a high cap extension .
he's a bottom 6 player on a good team at best and being paid almost as much a lot of top line players league wide.

VGK overpayed for him at the draft same as TOR overpayed for Plekanec due to lack of supply ,demand was high.
VGK moves out that contract as a dump and WPG moves it out to a team with cap to spare who can buy him out or use him during rebuild years as filler

Exactly we’ll put and Vegas has a couple guys that may get stuck in Chicago or back to junior if that cap hit is stuck in the way or one of the most expensive cap hits in the stands there is, not sure if glass or Suzuki are ready yet but Tatar doesn’t exactly fit a bottom six role if his offense isn’t there to win a top 6 role

Tatar isnt a bad player but he needs to be on a team like EDM,CHI,PIT,TBL or PHI to succeed as he needs to be the least talented player on his line to put up numbers in the top 6 role.
in order to play for those teams he needs a max cap of 3-3.5m cap and no more then 3 year terms giving them flexibility and the ability to move you out to win a cup if need be like Perron in PIT for Hagelin who's HBK line lead the way to the cup that year .

this is where MTL comes in who can retain cap and flip him to a contender or buy him out and allow him to sign as a free agent else where based on desire to play and succeed rather then get overpaid and pushed out again.
if i was MTL i'd retain cap on him and flip him to WSH a team with a weak RW and depth at LW and Center that's deep enough to carry Tatar at first ,second and third if need be with him still producing more then a Connely or DSP.

Well put wpg all ready has there Tatar in pearrault or little and can’t afford any more basically luxury item as long as u got enough youth on elc to pull his weight and fit him in bigger role for injuries or cold streaks
