For me the most annoying thing at that draft is the interview right after a selection, literally every GM after they’ve made their pick is like “This was that guy we wanted from the beginning, we’re incredibly lucky to have got him where we did, we had him much higher on our list”

"this is a great pick, he will be a stud for this team for a long long time" same analyst about the same player at a later date "this guy is a total bust, not sure what they saw in him."

I kinda laughed when the Sportsnet had Brian The Brain Burke as analyst for the draft. A guy would had any not interest in the draft as Leafs GM (and maybe as Flames executive). His record of drafting was terrible and there he was giving his expert insight on draft day. Not blaming Burke, he loves being on TV, but shame on Sportsnet. 75% of the CapFriendly GMs would have been better prepared.
