Karlsson Trade + signings/Laine

Created by: CollarMcbroken
Team: 2016-17 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 26, 2016
Published: Apr. 26, 2016
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Long term deals + mcdavid effect gets Backes and Ladd on value deals.

Fucale has struggled hard since becoming a pro(3.13 .903 ) and a swap could do both parties good.

Hall is elite LW at 23 with years before he hits his prime, Reinhart has promise as a 3/4 defencemen but is LH D and two first rounder should be Ball park for rebuilding Sens

Eberle + 2016 3rd round pick for Hamonic may be enough but a prospect may needed to be thrown in

I have a hard time believing Backes will leave the Blues, Ladd is definitely a possibility though

I think you should keep Letestu and buyout Fayne.

Ballsy deals yet; deals of this magnitude are what this team needs.

Ballsy is right. I think it might be an overpayment for Karlsson but it might change but the Oilers nearing to the playoffs. How's this, don't sign Backes, but RNH back at centre and sign Okopso to make up for Eberle on RW.

I think Eberle for Hamonic is an overpay, NYI should be adding the pick, not Edmonton in this instance.

I would have Poo up with McDavid and Maroon with Backes....I think Backes is staying put in St Louis, but you would have to go 5.5/year at least. For him I wouldn't go over 3 years. Also, I think he plays more wing than C.

I doubt Karlsson is given up for so little, but if he is I would do it in a heartbeat.

Fucale was a poor player before his first pro season, a lot of hype on him early because he played on a phenomenal team. I would not touch him with a 10 foot pole.

I like a lot of what Kassian brings, but he showed too little offence. I would only resign him to about $900 K on a "show me" deal.

I do not want Nurse in the NHL next year he needs a full year in the AHL to work on his weaknesses, he got destroyed last year and had amongst the worst advanced stats of all nHL Dmen last year. There needs to be more vets above him.

Fayne is a better Dman than most people realize, he is just a weak puck-mover and makes too much for what he brings. This team needs better passing Dmen and D depth to succeed. Fayne did very well with Sekera in the 2nd half and would likely do well with Brando.

Who is the back-up Goalie? It should not be LB, he needs more development.
