Just for fun...

What if the kids explode? namely, what if injuries give the chance for suomela, balcers, and gambrell explode on the scene. What do the sharks do then?

Can they solve the long term D by prying a franchise Dman if the jackets struggle along with panarin, then extend them both for 8 yrs, 9M per for Pan and 8 years, 7M per for ZW.

After all, going into the year, the sharks already have 12 NHL forwards. Letunov, Gambrell, Balcers, and Suomela are all competing for such a spot. The age of the D is the largest concern on the team with burns, vlasic and Braun. The sharks could use a studely, prove, sub 25 Defenseman. They also could use an explosive superstar forward. If the kids step it up, some very good names might become moveable for some bigger names.

I would be interesting in seeing those trades for each player from your perspective, i think Panarin for Hertl, Labanc and 1st and (which is fine if this is with Panarin's extension and Labanc's extension) and for Werenski left Tierney, Braun, Merkley and 2nd. I would change Merkley with another prospect and then it can be a deal imo.

Agree with you "for fun" because DW would want only Panarin and im not sure whether hes willing to trade Hertl right after resigning.
