Why do you get more for Eberle than you do for Lee?

I 100% agree the Isles should have a fire sale at the deadline. We are in no position to expect loyalty from anyone. But you can get waaaay more for Lee. I’d also say we can kiss our dreams of Panarin goodbye if we sell at the trade deadline. No one will want to join us if we go full rebuild. Which is fine because the load of prospects we’ll get this draft will be worth it.

Also nice to see the Eberle to NJD again. I stand by it; it just makes too much sense.

He was +25 and Lee was -5. Also Eberle I feel is a better all around player than Lee because Lee is more or less just a goal scorer.

Edit: I changed the Lee trade up a bit, is that a fair trade?

I doubt it’d be a rental. Eberle would get to play for a young playoff team on the rise and still get paid handsomely.

Even if it was a rental, look at what teams like Winnipeg paid for rentals last year. This isn’t too far off from that.

The Devils are not where Winnipeg was last year, unfortunately.
