After some more recent things that have happened this offseason, my predictions for the 2018-19 season will change, but i don't want to go through that right now, so i did a lottery based on my 2018-19 predictions made on July 10. I know you could say it's too early, but i'm going to do an early 2019 mock draft based on those predictions (for pick order), and will put in any trades if i think there is one. I will not put in any trades that don't involve 2019 1st round picks though. Only trades that could actually have anything to do with the 1st round of the draft. Feel free to make your own as well.

1. Vancouver - Jack Hughes
2. Detroit - Kaapo Kakko
3. NY Islanders - Dylan Cozens
4. Chicago - Alexander Newhook
5. NY Rangers - Philip Broberg
6. Montreal - Kirby Dach
7. Colorado (from Ottawa) - Alex Turcotte
8. Los Angeles - Raphael Lavoie
9. Carolina - Vasily Podkolzin
10. Buffalo - Bowen Byram
11. Minnesota - Arthur Kaliyev
12. Dallas - Peyton Krebs
13. New Jersey - Moritz Seider
14. Calgary - Matvei Guskov
15. Anaheim - Matthew Boldy
16. Arizona - Cole Caufield
17. Florida - Ilya Mironov
18. Vegas - Alex Vlasic
19. Columbus - Trevor Zegras
20. Philadelphia - Simon Holmstrom
21. Edmonton - Matthew Robertson
22. Buffalo (from St. Louis) - Ryan Suzuki
23. Pittsburgh - Yaroslav Likhachov
24. Boston - Albin Grewe
25. Buffalo (from San Jose) - Cam York
26. Nashville - Josh Williams
27. Tampa Bay ... "We have a trade to announce!"
To WPG: Pick 27, Pick 213
To TBL: Pick 31, Pick 62
27. Winnipeg (from Tampa Bay) - Valentin Nussbaumer
28. Colorado - Samuel Poulin
29. Toronto - Victor Soderstrom
30. Washington - Nolan Foote
31. Tampa Bay (from Winnipeg) - Sasha Mutala

Of course, some 1sts could be traded at the deadline, but i'm just going by who current has each pick (and possible draft deals).

I don't think Montreal would be able to pass up on Byram, this season will tell but a big top pairing LHD is their biggest hole right now. In saying this though, this years forward group is going to be very good and seeing who distinguishes themselves throughout the year will be interesting to watch.

I think a team like Buffalo is going to look at Spencer Knight with one of their firsts. He’s a real strong goalie prospect and I can see a team like Buffalo grabbing him with a late first

These standings were predictions from July 10th, way before EK was traded.

Idk why i'm even doing this but i'm gonna try again (just one more time for now, don't worry) with my new predicted standings and also, i'll see if i can do a little better this time:

1. NY Rangers - Jack Hughes
2. Colorado - Dylan Cozens
3. Detroit - Kaapo Kakko
4. Colorado (from Ottawa) - Kirby Dach
5. Vancouver - Vasily Podkolzin
6. NY Islanders - Bowen Byram
7. Montreal - Alexander Newhook
8. Chicago - Philip Broberg
9. Edmonton - Ilya Mironov
10. Carolina - Matvei Guskov
11. New Jersey - Arthur Kaliyev
12. Buffalo - Cam York
13. Minnesota - Alex Turcotte
14. Calgary - Ryan Suzuki
15. Anaheim - Raphael Lavoie
16. Dallas - Peyton Krebs
17. Arizona - Albin Grewe
18. Philadelphia - Alex Vlasic
19. Florida - Valentin Nussbaumer
20. Vegas - Moritz Seider
21. Boston - Josh Williams
22. Buffalo (from St. Louis) - Nolan Foote
23. Washington - Ryder Donovan
24. Toronto - Maxim Cajkovic
25. Pittsburgh - Samuel Poulin
26. Buffalo (from San Jose) - Cole Caufield
27. Winnipeg - Blake Murray
28. Columbus - Matthew Boldy
29. Los Angeles ...
Fans: "BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
Gary Bettman: "We have a trade to announce!"
Fans sound interested.
Bettman: "Los Angeles trades pick number 29 to Detroit for picks 36 and 64. LA trades 29 to Detroit for 36 and 64. Detroit, you're on the clock!"
29. Detroit - Matthew Robertson
30. Tampa Bay - Antti Saarela
31. Nashville - Trevor Zegras

I used a lottery simulator, in case you're wondering why i have Colorado's own pick being higher than their pick from Ottawa. Also, you can tell me if i'm way off, which i'm sure i am. No, i won't be doing this over and over again, though i probably will do a mock draft in June lol.

I doubt Buffalo expends a first round pick on a goalie. Ullmark is promising and Luukkonen projects to be a very good down the road.

So, all the teams have 3-letter abbreviations but Vegas is just "VEGAS" instead of "VGK"????

Why is Jack Hughes not 1st? Also, that looks pretty high for Alex Newhook.

Newhook is wayyyyy underrated. Only reason he doesnt play CHL and be a high contributing player is he wants his NCAA eligibility. And as much as I am Team USA I love Kaako and his game. Devs especially ned someone like him as they have their future centers basically set as long as they develop

I actually think teams should think at least a little bit about player positions at the draft. Everyone says "Take the best player available, whatever position he plays". It's not all about position, but i think it should be at least considered. However, I still don't think there are any teams who would take someone other than Hughes 1st overall. We'll see though.

Okay, fine, i'll try another one. I said i wasn't going to do it again until the draft but why not now? (I will do another before the draft.)

This is based on current standings and with a lottery simulator. Playoffs are by which team has the player with more points this season so far (obviously that's not always who wins in real life and it's a team sport, so it doesn't matter too much who has the better player, but i'm just doing it to make it simple without always picking the better regular season team. Also, this is player points, NOT points per game). This is only players currently on the team and it's about the amount of points they have with their current team:

1. Colorado (from Ottawa) - Jack Hughes
2. Anaheim - Kaapo Kakko
3. Los Angeles - Vasili Podkolzin
4. Detroit - Dylan Cozens
5. New Jersey - Peyton Krebs
6. Chicago - Bowen Byram
7. Vancouver - Kirby Dach
8. NY Rangers - Alex Turcotte
9. Edmonton - Matthew Boldy
10. Florida - Arthur Kaliyev
11. Buffalo - Ryan Suzuki
12. Arizona - Trevor Zegras
13. Colorado - Philip Broberg
14. Philadelphia - Cole Caufield
15. Ottawa (from Columbus) - Alexander Newhook
16. Minnesota - Nolan Foote
17. Dallas - Victor Soderstrom
18. St. Louis - Moritz Seider
19. Vegas - Thomas Harley
20. Montreal - Cam York
21. Carolina - Raphael Lavoie
22. NY Islanders - Alex Vlasic
23. Anaheim (from San Jose via Buffalo) ...
People on the draft show: "So, Anaheim at 23, but wait ... NHL commissioner, Gary Bettman."
Fans: "BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO."
Bettman: "We have a trade to announce. Anaheim trades pick #23 to Boston in exchange for pick #25 and Boston's 3rd round pick in 2020."
23. Boston (from San Jose via Buffalo and Anaheim) - Matthew Robertson
24. Los Angeles (from Toronto) ...
Draft show: "And it looks like there's another trade. Here's Gary Bettman."
Fans: "BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO."
Bettman: "We have a trade to announce. Los Angeles trades pick #24 to Washington in exchange for pick #27, pick #120, and Washington's 7th round pick in 2020."
24. Washington (from Toronto via Los Angeles) - Samuel Poulin
25. Anaheim (from Boston) - Connor McMichael
26. Nashville ...

Bettman: "We have a trade to announce. Nashville trades pick #26 to Los Angeles in exchange for Tyler Toffoli."
26. Los Angeles (from Nashville) - Brett Leason

28. Minnesota (from Pittsburgh) - Maxim Cajkovic
29. NY Rangers (from Winnipeg) - Spencer Knight

Not really a personal thing my mock draft is how I think things will play out. His brother is way better and Ryan is too hyped up. He will be good but not as good as some people think
