At this point I think Tom Wilson can't be traded. He has a risk of being another bad contract that's impossible to get rid of, when considering how big his salary is. After we've seen him play under that contract, it can be decided whether he is negative value or positive...

can't you say the same thing about Nylander then? or any player who is getting a major raise? I think he can be the next lucic back when lucic was 23-24 which gives him some upside..... but I do understand the negatives about this contract but his abilities don't always show up on the score sheet.....he takes a ton of penalties but he also draws a ton.....I like him as a player he can grind but also has the ability to skate with high end talent and not look out of place

last year people were talking about how the caps overpaid for kuzy and look at him ....his stats are better / mirror Matthews and hell be 4-4.5 million cheaper

No. Nylander has had 2 NHL seasons, both 20+ goals and 60+ points. Wilson is two years older and... a third liner. A $5.17M third liner.

point was that most players are a risk of being another bad contract that's impossible to get rid of.....nylander is no different.....

wilson played top line minutes and won a cup while putting up .75 ppg in the playoffs.....you know when it actually matters...... can you say the same bout Nylander?

No. I can say that Nylander has skill. Which I also can't say about Wilson. Kuznetsov is better right now, but Nylander is a lot closer to him than to Wilson.

Maybe the Caps can trade Connolly for him though...

Yeah............ kuzy > Matthews so Nylander must be almost better than Matthews?

Kuznetsov is 26 and feeding Ovechkin. Matthews is 21 and has much lesser wings than Ovechkin. If I had a game today that I needed a center for, I would pick Kuznetsov out of the two. If I am making a team, long term, I am going with Matthews without hesitation.

    But if you want to talk today, yeah, Kuznetsov - Matthews - Nylander - - - - - - - Wilson. What's your point?

Your Connolly/Ho-Sang trade was way off base and you have spent the last couple days arguing about it instead of just admitting that it was off base and a mistake. This is a learning opportunity for you, not a debate opportunity.

why is it Nylander......wilson...... did oshie get traded?

I said Connelly for ho sang.....you countered with Connelly and a 1st wouldn't get ho sang.......id say your trade is way worse but yeah

ho sang is worth a 2nd round pick at most......bc is worth a 3rd maybe a 2nd if the team is desperate for scoring depth .......so how is this way off? I mean rephrase how you talk... the trade isn't way off... caps might need to throw a 3rd or 4th at most

BECAUSE HE IS WORTH MORE THAN THAT!!! Would Vrana have been worth a 3rd last year? "ho sang is worth a 2nd round pick at most" is a very incorrect statement. The entire foundation of your argument is flawed. You are wrong. Is that rephrased enough for you to finally understand? Does it sink in now? I said that this was a learning opportunity, but I didn't realize that there was a learning disability involved.

Where did an Oshie trade come into this? There are a bunch of lines between Nylander and Wilson because Wilson doesn't belong in the same conversation as the other three when discussing who is better/ranking.

"Kuznetsov - Matthews - Nylander - - - - - - - Wilson" What part of that is causing you difficulty? Are you simply incapable of grasping basic concepts?

before last year vrana would be worth a 2nd round pick.... maybe a 3rd. he ws benched during the playoffs in Hershey so yeah that seems accurate.

okay wilson put up .75 in playoffs and had a great finish to the year say what you want about him but hes solid and adds more than what shows up in the score sheet

ho-sang is worth a 2nd....... would you honestly give up a 1st for an unproven Ahl player? then your an idiot. im sorry thats just stupid

Shift key. This isn't grade school.

Wilson @$5.2M is a mess, as the original poster said.

"I" don't want Ho-Sang so I am not giving anything for him.

Kane was a trade deadline rental. It is obvious that you have no concept of trade values.

    "learn honey idiot" What?

It's like talking to someone with ADD, and little hockey knowledge beyond stats that he can find online.

But hey... you won the interwebz today... You get a trophy... it's out in the middle of traffic, it's next to the honey... go get it.
