Ryan Mantha is dealing with some major health issues at the moment, so for the time being he is pretty much untradeable. Additionally, while I get that part of your intention for this deal is to balance the books (the cap), Ottawa's owner seems way too cheap to carry such dead weight in Edmonton salary with the likes of Kassian, Lucic, Sekera, etc.

Also Sekera will be on LTIR and most of this year if not all will be covered by insurance. so Melnyk saves there as well.

I still dont see this ever happening. however Chiarelli is crazy and ottawa is a mess for making trades as well. if money is a motivator melnyk will approve almost anything
