EF is an insider so this has some merit. Keith may still be a fairly decent player for the duration of his contract (5 more years). His cap hit becomes increasingly better with each new year, as long as he remains a top 4 dman. Seabrook doesn’t have any value so his long time partner would be the oldie to be moved. ONLY question, of course, is potential recapture penalties for the Hawks if Duncs is traded. I’d be okay with this deal for the future; I honestly do not see Chicago going anywhere for 5-6 years.

I wouldn't even give up Honka for Keith. Keith is good but old. Honka is a puck moving beast that will be top 4 for the next 10 years.

Dallas has a depth scoring problem, so you trade away one of their few depth players that can actually score (Shore), a potential top-6 Center (Hintz) which the Stars are starving for, and a puck-moving, future top-4 defenseman for an aging defender that doesn’t solve Dallas’ depth scoring issue? That’s entirely too much to give up for a player that isn’t going to fix a major weakness for the team.
