Description

Ladd hasn't played the entire preseason (back injury). Bellows, however, put together quite an impressive string of games.

Solution: put Ladd on short term IR and free up the 3LW slot for Bellows. This would effectively give him an NHL tryout for a week or more. Bellows cannot be sent back to Juniors, so the "9 game look" rule won't apply. This would just be a partial solution to give the kid a fair look with decent linemates.

Well what are you gonna do? He got paid $3M per, is healthy, and you know is gonna play. I'd like JHS in 3RW slot more than anyone but he didn't exactly have a stellar preseason...

That was my thought but IMO its never safe to use preseason as an indicator
