I would rather lose him for nothing or just have him sit in the AHL than have Mike Stone on the team. He's so bad.

I don't know where he fits in Calgary, the bottom line LW spot is definitely open, I think I would rather see Dube/Mangiapane in there though. If you asked at the start of the pre season of the end of last season it seems more realistic but Dube has played himself onto the team for sure. If Calgary moves Bennett out to make space for Dube on the 3rd line I think this makes more sense.

Moving Stone makes a ton of sense for us though, if he is playing on opening night we are not starting our best line up. I do like his versatility up and down the line up though.

I like Stone I don't know why everyone has so much hate for him. Yes he is a little slower but he is a consistent player who is big, uses his body, good first pass, very hard shot, good defensively and an average hockey IQ. It's hard to show yourself off when you play 3rd pairing minutes with Kulak who is barely a #6 d-man. Stone was a top 4 d-man for 3 seasons in Arizona and when he came to Calgary before the deadline 2 seasons ago. Also worked on his mobility, footwork and speed a lot this summer.

There is no room for Smith in this line-up, especially with Dube playing very well and Klimchuk & Mangiapane showing well. Worth noting that Calgary wanted Smith the past 1.5 seasons though. I am intrigued to learn why Ottawa waived him. I always thought he was a solid middle 6 player who scores timely goals.
