I'd prefer picks for Eberle. The first round of the 2019 draft has an unusually high number of centers and left shooting defensemen, which are our biggest needs in our prospect pool. If we tank (it looks like that's the plan) we should get a top 6 pick, and we'll be able to get either a top center (Hughes, Cozens, Dach) or a top left shooting defenseman (Broberg, Byram, Vlasic/York) and then we could use Anaheim's pick to get a lesser version of what we got with our own pick.

To address the idea of the post directly, I really like the idea. Perry isn't who he used to be, but Anaheim still relies on a Top RW to win. And with a wide open Pacific Division, they'll want to throw their hat in the ring. This preseason we learned that Bailey is just about as good with Barzal/Beau as Eberle was, maybe better. We can still give Barzal an RW he plays well with on the top line and still get a good return for Eberle, who doesn't seem likely to return next year. Eberle leaving might also clear a spot on the wings for Ho-Sang or Bellows.
