Not enough for stone

I think your underrating Mikka Salomaki here, this is enough for stone, and a package Ottawa would really like, based entirely on building for the future

It's a little more than Nashville paid for Turris, and the Preds got to negotiate a new contract with him before that trade was completed. Not asking for negotiation rights here.

Dude, your missing my point, this is fair value if not an overpay, uping the pick makes it worse, not better, plus knowing Pierre Dorion, he's gonna get a prospect and a cap dump for Stone.... see Hoffman, Mike

Dude... this is no where near an overpay. you clearly either 1. Over estimate Solimaki who, by the way, had 8 points in 52 games last year and was a -8 on a great NSH team. or 2. Greatly underestimate Mark Stone. was the best player last year on a team that had Erik Karlsson. and let me clarify. Stone is miles better than Turris and Hoffman

Dude, thats a MASSIVE overpay changing it to a 1st, Mika Solimaki has torn every league he's played in apart, he struggled in the NHL, even stone did in his 1st season. Stone is also not miles better then Hoffman or Turris, he's better, but not massively, you're valuing him like a top 10 winger in the league and he doesn't sniff it, not with the stats and not with the success. Ottawa is lucky to get this much

bud... take a second to go look at hockeydb . look at Solimaki's stats and look at stones stats and tell me who is wrongly valuing players. and you're absolutely wrong, Stone did not struggle at all in his first year he was a runner up for calder after having like 64 points. One of the best defensive wingers in the nhl. lead the league in takeaways every year except last. all while posting consistent 60+ point seasons. How about this then :
OTT: Boroweicki, 2nd , 2nd
for
NSH: Forsberg

exactly... what a joke . Keep your depth defenceman and 2 2nds.

Look at hockey reference and have a look at the advanced stats, a negative Fenwick Corsi ratio with a positive PDO means he's extremely lucky and still bad! Nashville had a team PDO lat was the 5th lowest in the league, Salomaki had great Corsi great D stats stats, and a positive fenwick with a negative PDO. That means he was good and EXTEMELY unlucky, so please don't question someone who loves stats about stats, now look who's wrong? Salomaki has top pairing potential Stone scores for what we call eventuality, Someone has to. On a major team you'll see him dip severely. Oh? I'm Wrong am I? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAA

Agreed, definitely not enough for Stone. I know Dorion was fleeced in his recent trades but pretty sure they want to keep Stone so the price will be high...Add Smith in the trade maybe

This isn't more than what we paid for Turris.... We gave up Kamenev, Girard, and a 2nd. Kamenev and Girard were our best prospects at the time (Tolvanen hadn't broken out in the KHL yet). Trenin wasn't on their level and Salomaki is a 4th line plug that can't get consistent ice time. The 2nd 3 years from now doesn't bridge the gap. Girard alone has proven that he's likely going to be worth more than that entire package.

I mean, I feel like it's fair value. But, a 2019 first would go a long way. Making the picks conditional is something that is possible in this trade. 2019 2nd round pick (NSH) becomes a 2019 1st round pick (NSH) if Stone scores 10 or more points in the playoffs or something a long the lines of that. Also, if Nashville does well, that 1st round pick is in the low 20's overall. Even maybe 31st overall smile. I, for one, would love to see Turris and Stone together again. They work magic defensively and turn it on offensively when needed. Stone + Pyatt for Salomäki + Trenin + 2019 1st round pick (NSH - Conditional) + 2020 2nd round pick (NSH) + the higher of the 2 4th round picks in 2019?

Trenin, Girard & Kamenev were all 2nd round picks. At the time of the Turris trade Girard was about as unproven at NHL level as Kamenev and Trenin currently are. Both deals involve the equivalent of three 2nd rounders. Salomaki is a fine, young bottom six player, on a cheap contract. I'm sure he'd be a full time player on Ottawa.

Smith's goal scoring is on par with Stone's. And he makes nearly half as much. That's way too much for a one season rental.

Ugh! Don't remind me of the possibility. Grimaldi seems to have had the best camp of the fringe guys, and Gaudreau has been a good team player the past few seasons, who's earned his shot. Fingers crossed that Rinaldo is wearing Milwaukee double blue all season!
