HIs underlying statistics are really good for a bottom 6 winger, I think he's better than DSP

Hes a wildly underrated player. (Especially with us Blues fans) Can skate well and throw his body around. Plays responsible defensively . If he can find a way to finally develop some scoring touch he will be a really nice player for you all. As a Blues fan I'm kinda disappointed he was just let go without a return. But there were years of rumors that he was not particularly well liked and not really involved with the group. So maybe a fresh start helps there.

Certainly this week. DSP's had two great playoffs in his NHL career and is 26. Jaskin plays equally tough minutes with massively better corsi and a few more hits than Smith-Pelly, but only has 4 career playoff points, in 14 games, including 2 goals. Smith-Pelly has 16 in 48, including 13 goals. Jaskin was born to a Russian family living in the Czech republic, and has played in the NHL for several years, so he can translate between most of the Caps' forwards. For that alone, he's a great pickup, but I'm surprised they hit fifty contracts and didn't add a veteran backup. Should be fun to watch Copley show why.
