Dude 27 goals. AMAZING to Marner and Mathews. Teaching a very young team how to be pros. Steps into the center role when needed. Scored big goals all year. I would take him back same money. Its not his fault Toronto took on two players north of 10mill. He is great.

I was being sarcastic but it didn’t translate well frown. But yeah I don’t think he would have signed less than 3 years

He's been great. In the the room and on the ice.

You could consider signing Tavares as an unpredictable stroke of luck and the cause of salary problems, but that would ignore his cap space was bought by dumping Komarov, JVR, Bozak, and now Carrick.

Going after Marleau was poor planning, not just of timing but of roster balance.

I have zero regrets to the Marleau signing. Only two years left and he’s been a valuable top six forward, especially with Nylander holding out, Marleau is playing a solid role with Matthews.

By the time he’s gone guys like Johnson and Grundstrom will be ready to fill that role.
