Montreal has no reason to make rebuild trades at this point. We have a stable core. Unless your trading an AHLer with little potential like Agostino or an unneeded NHLer like Deslauriers, don't trade at all. Bergevin made the mistake of going "big" already with the Martinsen and Ott deals. Going for speed, with Kotkaniemi and Domi is now working great, the Habs are one of the best Atlantic teams right now that is what we want.
i like Jensen , i watch KHL so i know he's the type of RW who could be an impact player here in a year or two once we give him a reason to want to play .
yes its a long term investment with Jensen 100% but its worth what we're giving up as Petry's Value today is the highest its ever been and our only chance to re-coop the picks we invested in him with depth additions.
maybe the last 2 deals are unneeded and just me getting carried away but the NYR deal i feel makes us better now and in the future .
Fleury wont take long to make an Impact and he'll be coming for Petry's special teams minutes as he's also an offensive catalyst and with Juulsen /Weber here and Brook on the way we need to use Petry to sure up our LD and Ryan Lindgren is a great prospect .
i didnt really need to take Beleskey to make the deal but i chose to because he had a lot of success under Claude Julien and only really declined hard after CJ left .
Beleskey is the perfect call up we dont have to worry about people claiming and he can come up and play that same 4th line role for CJ if Deslauriers gets hurt again .
Petry has to go because our strongest depth point now outside Center is RD and has been a strong point for years .
(MTL under MB rebuild their D core 3 times letting go of all the LW's but Markov 2/3 times before letting Markov go the last Rebuild so our RD is Traditionally good its the LD that keeps choking/busting )
