If TO really wanted to have a Gudbrandson type player, they would have signed Polak to a 1.3 million dollar deal. They definitely aren't giving up a 2nd for that plug.

It was reported last trade deadline that a team had offered a 2nd round pick for Gudbranson but instead the Canucks declined the offer and extended him. The team was highly speculated to be Toronto. It doesn't necessarily have to be Toronto though, I was just demonstrating that Gudbranson would have been traded for a second instead of still being on the team for the next 3 years.

Maybe not now especially with that contract, but last trade deadline he was.

Speculation my friend speculation, if he was worth a 2nd, he wouldn't be in Vancouver anymore.

I'm not saying there wasn't an idiot GM out there wanting to pick him up. All I'm saying is that anyone who understands where the game is now and where its going would not give up anything for Gudbranson. He's slow and lacks skill. That's pretty much the exact opposite you want in a player these days.

I know that, I am well in touch with the team and the league and I am well aware of Gubranson's abilities. In this trade I am simply stating that if not for Benning's decision to resign Gudbranson, he would have been traded to a team at the trade deadline, likely the Maple Leafs, in a deal that would roughly value at a 2nd round pick. I know that at this point in time Gudbranson wouldn't fetch the same value and never once did I state that so please do not twist my words and learn to think before you speak.

The Leafs would not have used a 2nd rounder on Gudbranson, that was all rumours. Although Lou sure seems out of touch now that he doesn't have Shanahan and Dubas keeping him from making dumb moves like bringing in a bunch of 4th liners.

As I pasted previously, information had leaked that in two separate deals that Toronto offered a 2018 3rd and Andrew Nielsen, and then a 2018 2nd and 2018 4th. These are claims made by very reliable sources.

Of your pasted links, 3 come up with 404 page not found and the 4th is a tweet where the guy just says there was an offer, there is literally zero credibility from your reliable sources.
