What Happens If Nylander Doesn't Sign?

Just wondering what happens to Nylander if he doesn't sign before December 1. I know that he wouldn't be allowed to play rest of the year, but does he stay RFA in June or does he become UFA if not signed by July 1? Please let me know

he remains a rfa until he is 27 or he plays 6 seasons. Unless the leafs trade his rights they keep them until july 1st 2023. then he becomes a ufa

If he's not signed by the 1st of December he has to sit out to rest of this season. So the debate is whether the Leafs should trade him or let him sit for the year.
