ROUND 1 | TEAM | ORIGINAL | PLAYER | DETAILS |
---|
| - | Rasmus Dahlin (-1 ) | Obvious first pick, an outstanding defense with franchise altering talent. | |
| - | Andrei Svechnikov (-2 ) | Svech would've gone 1st overall in last years draft. A highly skilled, game breaking goalscorer. Has a 50 goal upside. | |
| - | Jesperi Kotkaniemi (-3 ) | Wasnt a huge fan of this pick at time but it looks like Kotka could really be the real deal. | |
| - | Filip Zadina (-4 ) | This should've been who Ottawa selected, the high ceiling goal scoring winger. | |
| - | Evan Bouchard (-5 ) | I was really high Bouchard going into the draft and I still am high on him. He reminds men John Carlson and has the lowest basement of all the d selected after Dahlin. | |
| - | Quinn Hughes (-6 ) | Stays in Michigan and can become star. If he can bulk up he could definitely be a top pairing dman. Love this pick for DET. | |
| - | Noah Dobson (-7 ) | Vancouver picks by need a picks up the next dman in the draft. The high basement/high ceiling puck moving dman is a great pick for all the youth and speed vancouver is looking to bring into the system. Has top pair upside but will most likley become a strong 3D. | |
| - | Barrett Hayton (-8 ) | Chicago picks up the best player available in Hayton. A center who wont be NHL right away but if he pans out he could turn into a two-way monstrosity. Bergeron lite. | |
| - | Joel Farabee (-9 ) | The Rangers pick up a solid winger in Farabee. A high hockey IQ with the skills to match and a non-stop motor makes him destined for a top 6 role. The Rangers hit a homerun with this pick. | |
| - | Ty Smith (-10 ) | Edmonton picks from positional need an pick up Ty Smith. A high power OFD who run a PP, boasts excellent skating, and top paring ceiling. Hits all the needs for the Oilers. | |
| - | Adam Boqvist (-11 ) | Boqvist is another high powered OFD who uses skating and stick work to make plays. He has been know to get easily muscled off pucks and is not an NHL lock. A boom or bust pick. | |
| Vitali Kravtsov (-12 ) | Kravstov is an extremmely skilled winger who has shown to be solid in all three ends of the ice. If the Islanders get him out of the KHL this pick is very very solid. | ||
| - | Grigori Denisenko (-13 ) | Denisenko is a flashy playmaker coming out of the KHL. He has top 10 skills but is lacking in his own zone. He could pan out to be a 60-70 point player who gets PP1 time. | |
| K'Andre Miller (-14 ) | A huge dman, Miller has everything a prototypical, new wave NHL dman has. Size, speed, smarts, can play hard minutes, and puck moving ability. Will definetly be a staple in the STL top 4, maybe even the top pair. | ||
| - | Oliver Wahlstrom (-15 ) | Wahlstrom has an amazing shot and a good nonstop motor. His skating and play driving are lack luster, however if he can improve those he could be a top 6 winger. | |
| - | Dominik Bokk (-16 ) | A phenominal offensive talent. Bokk loves to score and has all the tools to do just that. If he had a more complete game he would have gone in the top 10. | |
| - | Jonatan Berggren (-17 ) | Berggren plays the game at 1000 mph. A player who loves to forecheck but also can dish the puck and can also score goals. One of my biggest risers in 2018. | |
| - | Brady Tkachuk (-18 ) | The low basement, low ceiling winger falls far in 2018. CBJ love to pick up gritty, skilled forawrds and Tkachuk fits that bill to a tee. A solid middle 6 guy who can kill penalties. | |
| - | Ty Dellandrea (-19 ) | A solid two-way forward who carried a terrible Flint team during his time in the OHL. A solid, safe pick. | |
| - | Rasmus Kupari (-20 ) | LA makes the same pick with Kupari, who has been a standout in the Liiga so far this season. | |
| - | Martin Kaut (-21 ) | Kaut is an almost ready NHLer, fell because of health concerns. Has scoring winger top 6 potential. | |
| Alexander Alexeyev (-22 ) | Alexeyev is a solid, stay at home puck moving DFD. Questions about injuries could scare some teams off, but he's just too good to miss. Matias Ekholm player comparable. | ||
| - | Jacob Bernard-Docker (-23 ) | The winner of the AJHL dman of the year. JBD can add some bulk and really turn himself into a second pairing dman with PP1 playing time. | |
| - | Nicolas Beaudin (-24 ) | I am a huge Beaudin fan. An elite puck mover with a sky-high offensive potential, if he can add bulk and become stronger in his own zone he could be a top pairing dman. | |
| Rasmus Sandin (-25 ) | Sandin is a safe pick here. Has all the tools to be a reliable NHL level dman, does not have a high offensove upside. | ||
| Isac Lundeström (-26 ) | Lundestrom is a strong two-way center with a good offensive upside. Could develop into a very strong 2C. | ||
| Nils Lundkvist (-27 ) | A very young player in this draft, Lundkvist is a strong puck moving OFD who needs to work on being better in his own zone. Top 4 upside. | ||
| Jett Woo (-28 ) | Woo is yet another puck moving dman, he loves to be physical and get in corner battles. Has top 4 upside and can play the PK. | ||
| Bulat Shafigullin (-29 ) | Shaffagulin is my favorite 2018 prospect. His compaiasons to Kucherov are not unfounded as Shaffagulin is a explosive, dynamic winger who has all the makings to be a massive sleeper. His potential is anywhere from KHL lifer to a top line NHL winger. He's a risky pick but if he hits, it will be game-changing. | ||
| Mattias Samuelsson (-30 ) | Samuelsson is big, strong skating DFD who loves to be physical. He projects as a 4D with lower offensive upside. Needs to work on discipline. | ||
| - | Semyon Der-Arguchintsev (-31 ) | SDA is an small forward with star power offensice skills. He is undersized but that does not hold him back from making plays and scoring a lot. Could possibly rise more as his career progresses. A boom or bust pick. |
