Yeah, I prepared myself mentally before I posted the idea. Toronto fans overestimate Nylander. Especially with Kapanen stealing his second line spot.

while i don't necessarily dis agree with you on leafs fans and Nylander, Nylander signs today he takes Kapanen spot as soon as he is ready. Nylander value alone is more than that, especially since giradi has little value. the leafs don't need help on wing or center no matter how good you think Gourde.

Well first of all, let's talk control. In both Nylander and Ozhiganov, you'd be receiving a ton of control on both players. Gourde and Girardi are UFAs after the season, so they're basically rentals. In Girardi's case, he's quite a slow skating rental at that and I'd argue he's not even a top-4. So the Leafs are shelling on that kind of value for basically Gourde. That's simply ridiculous, beyond ridiculous actually.

I guess a fair trade would be Gourde and Girardi for Gudbransson and Boesner

Girardi has been bought out because he isn't that good and he's old. The best player in the trade is Nylander, he's better than Gourde by a wide margin and he's younger. Oz vs Girardi doesn't even come into play. Also Oz is younger than Girardi. This trade is terrible.

I saw Oz play the last two games. leafs might have a cheap, effective dman. nice euro ufa signing. same with lindholm. leafs have done well with their ufa europeans.
