Description

First off I don't think the jets should trade Laine, but hypothetically if he prices himself out of Winnipeg after this season, this is what I think:
Note: the Jets gave Florida permission to speak with Laine prior to the deal and he signed. Also, Huberdeau waived his NMC (if he had to...not 100% sure)
I'm using the Lindros to Philly trade as a template (adjusting for inflation).
Lindros fetched:
Steve Duchesne (27 year old #1-2 offensive Dman)
Peter Forsberg (#6 overall pick the year prior)
Ron Hextall (28 year old goalie on the decline)
Huffman (24 year old 5-6 d-man)

I'm going with the impression that he "prices himself out of Winnipeg" so I priced him out of Winnipeg. he scores 40 plus this year and Matthews signs for close to 12 you better believe his agent will want 12 per over the max time

Too much? it's super hard to put value on Laine. Clearly he'd get a lot back, but what is the package? I picked the Panthers cause they are deep at C and could use an elite sniper

Not by much? Panarin will still cost close to $10 million per.
