1. Erik Karlsson (Tampa Bay Lightning) (Details: Has become one of the most dynamic and skilled defencemen in history. Sure first overall. Might find his way to Tampa in free agency.).
2. Drew Doughty (Los Angeles Kings) (Details: Helped guide the kings to two Stanley Cups, almost as good as Karlsson, almost.).
3. Alex Pietrangelo (Atlanta Thrashers) (Details: Good at everything. Only a little bit better than Stamkos).
4. Steven Stamkos (St. Louis Blues) (Details: Strong goal scorer whose career has been tampered with by injury and a weak team.).
5. Roman Josi (Toronto Maple Leafs from New York Islanders) (Details: Good at both ends of the ice. Best defence man on a team loaded with them.).
6. Braden Holtby (Columbus Blue Jackets) (Details: Future Vezina winner, and Cup winner. Much deserved.).
7. John Carlson (Nashville Predators from Toronto Maple Leafs) (Details: Backed by a good team. Either way, very good.).
8. Jordan Eberle (Phoenix Coyotes) (Details: Good forward, bad team. Sounds Familiar.).
9. Jake Gardiner (New York Islanders from Florida Panthers) (Details: High point total, could be better in his own zone.).
10. Jake Allen (Vancouver Canucks) (Details: Shows flashes of brilliance, other times he has the stats of a backup.).
11. Adam Henrique (Chicago Blackhawks) (Details: Has his up and downs. His highs are high and his lows are low. Overall a very good player, none the less.).

15. Travis Hamonic (Ottawa Senators from Nashville Predators) (Details: He couldn't score if you payed him to, but is a talented shut down defence man.).
16. Zach Bogosian (Boston Bruins) (Details: Didn't deserve to go 3rd. A good second line D-man that was constantly on a bad squad. Whether it be Atlanta, Winnipeg, or a horrible Sabres.).
17. Colin Wilson (Anaheim Ducks from Calgary Flames) (Details: Has goal scoring patterns, which states this year is going to be a good one.).
18. Josh Bailey (Nashville Predators from Ottawa Senators) (Details: Coming off an excellent season. Won't be able to replicate it.).
19. Justin Schultz (Philadelphia Flyers from Colorado Avalanche) (Details: Defence man with high point totals. Struggles in his own zone, much like Jake Gardiner.).
20. Jared Spurgeon (New York Rangers) (Details: Can manage the puck with grace. Stuck with a mediocre Minnsota.).
21. Cam Atkinson (Washington Capitals from New Jersey Devils) (Details: Finally growing into his own. Nothing fancy, scores goals.).

23. Tyler Myers (Minnesota Wild from Washington Capitals) (Details: When healthy, he is important to the defensive core in Winnipeg.).
24. Tyler Ennis (New Jersey Devils from Minnesota Wild) (Details: When healthy, a lethal second line center.).
25. Jori Lehterä (Calgary Flames from Montreal Canadiens) (Details: Scores important goals. a great third line centre.).
26. Luke Schenn (Buffalo Sabres from San Jose Sharks) (Details: Bounced around several teams. Despite being in his prime, has decreasing stats, either way, a good example on any team.).
