Description
Not 100% sure on how highly Stars fans hold Julius. Once regarded as a top defensive prospect in the NHL, he's definitely fallen from where he once was.

I don't think Honka as the centrepiece of a trade gets any kind of impactful player in return. The best case scenario with a Honka Trade is a swap of struggling young players, like Puljujarvi, but even then I'd want Dallas to add there.

He'd have value if he was playing well, but if he was playing well you wouldn't want to trade him in the first place.

I think at this point if traded, the stars would look for a young forward with the same "unfulfilled" potential, or a packaged for a second line winger to address their secondary scoring. While I don't think he would be traded in a 1 for 1 scenario, maybe someone like Ho-sang? I think they still believe he has value so if it was for a pick they would ask for a 2-3, although i think a second probably is steep.

I've seen lots of mock trades of Honka to LA, so I was trying to find out what everyone thought his value was. Obviously agree if he was producing well Dallas wouldn't want to move him.

Ya his value has gone down the shitter. I wouldn’t give more than a 3rd for him. Kings might do this just for cap relief.

I would definitely agree with this. I've seen a few Honka packages proposed for Toffoli, so I was just curious on how highly everyone actually holds him with how little he's done in his young career.

I don't think Honka and a 3rd gets it done. Maybe adding a 2nd on top, but honestly if I'm LA I'm asking for Carrick over Honka. Has a way higher chance of being a suitable replacement for Marinez.

Honka can still be a top 4 dman. Problem in Dallas is they have so many puck moving dmen in Klingberg Heiskanen and Honka, that you cant play them with each other. Heiskanen and Honka don’t play well together and you’re not gonna play Heiskanen with Klingberg and you’re not gonna play Heiskanen on the 3rd pair which leads to Honka playing 3rd pair mins. Carrick has been overachieving which gives him a roster spot too. If Honka is moved to a team like TOR, VAN, etc, easily a top 4
