Even with subpar defense, TOR is still miles better not making this trade.

If last night's game is an indication, Leafs don't to sell their for a minor upgrade on defence. (Leafs beat the highest scoring team, Pittsburg 5-0)

My point was that maybe something involving Matthews (You fill in the trade pieces) and maybe Toronto would end up a better rounded team.

Oh so I guess the previous game against Pittsburgh, St. Louis and Dallas don’t count.

They count but the Pittsburg game was 3-0 with two empty netters, the Blues 4 - 1 lose and the Dallas game they allowed 4 and scored 7. I guess Leafs haters we always they have the worse Dman in the league despite having the 11th best GAA. But thanks for mentioning the 2 allowed in Washington and the two goals allowed per game against the Jets,

Still no lol. Matthew's should absolutely be untouchable unless McDavid is going back the other way. IMO Nylander and Marner are traded way before Matthew's.

You must be a die hard Leafs fan. Matthews isn’t close to being in the same league as McDavid. It’s funny but I was one of the first people to suggest trading Nylander during the summer. Now that it is becoming apparent that Nylander isn’t drinking Dubas’ lemonade, Toronto is in cap hell. I suggested trading Matthews for a couple of reasons. The payback for Matthews would be greater, and who knows if Matthews is a china doll or not? In his short time in Toronto he has hurt both shoulders and had a concussion. I believe if the right deal for him came along, Toronto would be crazy not to trade him. I want to emphasize the right deal, not what I suggested above.
