According to NHL Network, LAK have fired Coach Stevens. LAK are off to a terrible start to the season, but have won 2 out of their last 3, although all 3 games were played on home ice. Personally, I think this is the right move. Their offense is abysmal and Kopitar has been invisible for the better part of the season. There's too much talent there to be a last place team. At worst, they should be fighting for a WC spot down the stretch.

Who will be Stevens replacement? My money is on former NYR and VAN coach Alain Vingeault.

Just read that Willie Desjardins will serve as the interim head coach.

Maybe he should be fired. But gee IMO, the Kings have done little in past few years to upgrade their talent on the ice. Maybe the untouchable management guys should be scrutinized also.

Blake hasn't even been here for two full seasons yet. I wouldn't be quick to blame him on that.

I'm the first to vote no ... too early in the season and also this is only his 2nd year there, and they made the playoffs last season ... but this year we have an in-season coach firing, unlike last year lol.

They have too much talent to waste and they play in too weak of a division to be this bad. But I highly doubt the coaching change is gonna fix the Kings problems. If Kopitar had anything less than an MVP caliber year last season they'd have missed the playoffs then as well. They're stuck in that terrible spot of being to bad to make the playoffs but not bad enough to get a top draft pick. The Devils were in the same boat for 5 years after they traded for Cory Schneider.
