Tyson Barrie is secondary scoring, so I have no idea what would be the point of this trade

Well we would need to unload salary in any move we make. We’re already dangerously close to the cap.
Maybe Johnson, at least to start.

Just an outside observer, but because of the cap situation you'll need to take a cap assets back. I'd imagine TBL might want to offload Callahan or Coburn with Johnson.

Look at the forwards on the way vs the defensemen on the way for Colorado. Makar will be in the NHL by the end of the season, and will force out Barrie this summer. The Avalanche need secondary scoring at forward, and you can’t bank on draft picks or free agent signings.

Here was my thought on trading Barrie to TBL:

Gourde/Miller would probably be the easiest targets because they don't have NTCs yet. Johnson/Killorn would be the ones I think TBL would want to move, but they may not waive NTCs. And then TBL would obviously want to unload Callahan somewhere before next year, which should be doable with a 16 team trade list.

Doesn't Jack Hughes count as secondary scoring?

Its just dumb, sorry but Barrie is one of the top offensive Dmen in the league, he is creating offense. You take him away you arent solving anything
