Tanner Pearson is an okay depth winger, that is all. He isn't worth a young offensively gifted player or a likely even a 2nd round pick. LA has very little in regards to assets that can be moved to improve the team. If you want to improve you need to move older slow players while you still can and get a max return before their long term contracts destroy the team because the aging vets are declining assets. Trade Kopitar before he regresses, he hasn't look good this season as the game continues to get faster and faster.

What will happen though is LA will try to turn back the clock, fail, and be in an even worse spot next season.

LAK really needs a FULL rebuild more than any other team out there. They'd be wise to trade both Muzzin and Martinez for Picks/Prospects. Then Take on salary for Carter to get a Really sweet haul from a team like CAR...Specifically CAR. They need a guy like Carter because they're young and Carter brings play @ either Center or Winger...has won cups before...can help mentor guys like Aho, Turbo, and Svech. The convince Kovy to get traded.

Hi guys, you are right with full rebuild idea. The problem is most older players have no trade value and their contracts are to expire in 2+ years. My idea behind these trades was to bring some new blood to the team. Honestly, as a GM from other team I would decline any offer for Kopitar, Carter, Kovalchuk, Brown, Quick & Phaneuf off course. If I would attempt to land some valuable piece then Doughty or Martinez. Better 2x Hudon and some cheap goalie backup than to start full rebuild right now.

I'd bet a fair amount of money that some GM would pay way more than they should for Kopitar based off last season alone. They shouldn't he's way too slow to keep up with the current NHL, but someone will make that mistake. I bet you could get a very highend prospect a 1st and a bad contract coming back with less term if you traded Kopitar.
