Where does this value for Lehkonen come from? Like what is it that Canadiens fans see that the rest of the league is blind to?

He's a solid player, but not nearly enough for Nylander. Petry for Gardiner is basically a toss up, but for argument sake we'll give Petry the edge. So it's basically Nylander and a 4th, for Lehkonen, Benn and a 2nd.

First off, Nylander doesn't get traded within the division. Second of all, Lekhonen is a 3rd liner on any but Montreal and Ottawa. Petry is a right handed version of Gardiner, and Benn is a scratch. How is this worth Nylander

It might make more sense to swap Hainsey for Gardiner - call it a cap relief present for the Leafs, drop the Leaf's pick and swap out Lekhoken and Benn for a better prospect (Jake Evans, Cale Fleury, etc).

If the Habs do that and maybe sweeten the pot by retaining salary a little- then maybe you'd get a deal. After all, the Habs would overpay since it's the same division.

Yes everyone is right. I adjusted the trade, keep in mind that if a player like Nylander might be available, A gm needs to call to at least see if Toronto are interested in some players. During a discussion, you can get into details, example look at Leafs roster and with Nylander it’s 6 right handed wingers (Marner,Kapanen,Hyman,Brown, Leivo). Montreal has many lefties. Suzuki is a righty, Lekhonen is left and more established than Leivo. I just wonder what the other teams are offering Dubas. I believe that now I have a good trade for Toronto. I appreciate the comments, it was all well written. Let me know what you think now.
