Strange, I had the exact opposite reaction. 4 picks in the first two rounds, a top forward prospect, a d prospect with top 4 potential and a decent young 3rd line center, for a great Dman with a contract that is going to sink the team in the back half of the deal?

That's way too steep a price for me. If Doughty was 24, its maybe a different story, but he'll be 29 by the time that contract kicks in, and like 37 by the time it's done.

Strome is a 4th liner on a real team, Caggiula also.
Bear is bottom 4 tops at this point. If you can get a 2nd pair guy you've done well.
Yammer seems decent.

On a rebuilding team (Edmonton if their GM has any brains left) that contract is actually a good thing, as they dont need to get top 5-10 picks, mid rounds are okay as they only need depth.
